Berserk TV Anime Joining The Summer Season

As we reported previously, Berserk is coming back later this year.

For those less familiar with the series, Berserk is a dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura. Set in a medieval Europe-inspired dark fantasy world, the story centers on the characters of Guts, a lone mercenary, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the Band of the Hawk. Themes of isolation, camaraderie, and the question of whether humanity is fundamentally good or evil pervade the story, as it explores both the best and worst of human nature. Both the manga and anime are noted for their use of graphic violence and sexual content.

In any case, we’re now starting to receive more news about the new upcoming version of the series, and we can only expect that trend to continue as we get nearer and nearer to the premier date.  Read the details below the break!

Berserk fans rejoice, because Guts is finally back, and this time, he’s going to don his “Black Swordsman” look for the first time! And now, this new 2016 Berserk anime’s official website has announced that this latest anime adaptation will be premiering in July 2016, as part of the Summer 2016 anime season.

The official website has also revealed that the new anime will first air in WOWOW before being aired via MBS as part of their “Animeism” block.
