Official New Cardcaptor Sakura Anime Project Confirmed

20 Years After Launching, is this the Beginning of a Comeback?

Cardcaptor Sakura is a well-beloved anime IP from times past, but it seems to be coming back once more!

An official NEW anime project has been announced by CLAMP, the creators of the original CardCaptor manga and anime.  There is no more definitive source than that.

Details below the break!

The 20th anniversary celebrations for CLAMP’s classic magical girl manga, Cardcaptor Sakura, just got a lot bigger, as Nakayoshi Magazine’s July 2016 issue is set to announce a new anime project for the franchise.

While the issue of Nakayoshi did reveal a new Cardcaptor Sakura anime project, they did not reveal any other details about it, though they did state that “more details will be announced after they are decided.”

The mangaka group known as CLAMP first launched Cardcaptor Sakura back in 1996, which means that the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. CLAMP has launched a new manga for the franchise, which follows Sakura already graduating from elementary and is now in middle school.
