“Overlord” is Taking Over, Selling 1.5 Million Copies

Overlord Novels and Manga Outselling Predictions, Growing in Popularity
So, what’s better than a Lord of the undead making smiley emoticons? Well, according to fans, his adventures in a fantasy-world-turned real are fascinating – the “Overlord” series has gained quite a following.
This series follows in the footsteps of the various virtual-reality MMO anime series that have been popular lately – but with a twist. The Overlord series follows a person (known in the first episodes as “Momonga”) who stays in logged in to a fantasy MMO until the final moment that the servers shut down. However, he doesn’t wind up back at home, in front of his computer. Somehow, the game world continues, with him in it. Even more strangely, the NPCs are suddenly speaking and acting like sentient beings…
The show has an entertaining cast of characters back at the main base, and it is oddly satisfying to watch the main character interact with and try and figure out this new world. Even if this isn’t your typical fare, it may be worth your time to check it out.
