Starting With Pikachu In Pokemon Go

Taking the Fourth Option

Pokemon Go has started by using the original 150 Pokemon from the Red, Blue, and Yellow games.  Much like the Red and Blue games, all players who start up are given the classic choice of starter Pokemon – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

However, in the Yellow version of the game, you started out with Pikachu as your first Pokemon.  As it turns out, there’s a way to do that in Pokemon Go, too.

If you repeatedly walk away from the original three starter choices, Pikachu will eventually appear.

Now, most people won’t be willing to start over their Pokemon adventure just for this, but don’t worry too much about never finding a Pikachu.  Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu ALL have a chance of hatching from eggs.  Specifically, the 2.0 km ones.
