“Enhanced Third Version” Similar to Certain Pokémon Releases
Though it first came to the west in 2015, the Yo-Kai Watch series has been running successfully in Japan since 2013.
Though it is a unique IP with a unique style of gameplay, the adorable creatures/spirits that you collect and battle has caused the series to be unavoidalby be compared with Pokémon. Much of the series’ marketing and strategy has parallels to Pokémon as well. For example, releasing two slightly different versions of the same game at once in each generation.
And, much like how Pokémon Yellow eventually followed Blue and Red, a third version is eventually planned for Yo-Kai Watch 3. Find little more detail below the break!
When Yo-kai Watch 2 originally launched in two versions in Japan back in July 2014, an enhanced third version followed that December. Now Level-5 is looking to do the same with Yo-kai Watch 3, which debuted in Sushi and Tempura versions in Japan this past July.
Due out on Nintendo 3DS in Japan on December 15, the third version is titled Sukiyaki. There currently aren’t any details regarding the new or updated content, but we should know more soon.
